An Ounce Of Prevention   January 29th, 2009

There’s a lot of things that can be prevented. All of us could sit down and take a moment to think back and find things that we wish we could have done differently. We’d want a do over to make it right.

I see things in my daily life and the lives of others around me that I think would warrant a do over. Here’s some examples:

A while back I decided to buy a 4 plex. My wife said, “don’t do it” I replied, “it’s not a problem and it will be easy.” So I went ahead and did it anyway.

It was a mess.

People didn’t pay their rent. One woman wrecked the apartment and when I finally had to have her leave I went in and took out 15 huge bags of garbage that were spread all over everything. This was with 2 little babies living in the apartment.

My wife was good about it after I learned my lesson, but I know that she wanted to give me a big TOLD YOU SO.

Live and learn. What else could I do.

Here’s a few more examples of things that qualify as do-overs:

Many people in the U.S. live a sedentary life style. They don’t exercise, eat the wrong foods, and in general don’t do anything to stay or become healthy.

End result- diabetes, heart disease, terrible energy levels, and poor quality of life.

Don’t these people know what can happen if you don’t take care of yourself. Do they think that they will get some kind of pass, a do not go to jail card. This is not Monopoly. It’s the real deal.

When all is said and done they wish they would have done it differently. They wish they had a do over card.

How about this? Many families in this country want the American dream. They want a house of their own. It’s a great goal to work towards.

They’re not financially ready to own a home because they don’t have any savings put away for a rainy day and if they would run into something bad in their lives they have nothing stored up for a rainy day.

They go out and find a lending institution who will give them a loan, even though the lender knows it’s a bad risk.

No problem…

Once the loan is made and the buyer has their home, the lender has the money and is free and clear.

Nothing to worry about because crooks like that aren’t held accountable by the law and by our government.

I’ve got my own theory about what should be done to people that take advantage of others like that.

Instead, we give them more money to screw more people that can’t afford homes but want them.

Big do over for the unfortunate person who wanted the American dream.

So what’s the lesson for today.

I believe that it’s TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

Be patient and wait until you have the skills and the resources to do what you want.

Watch out for greedy B——S who have no respect or dignity.

What Are You Thinking About?   November 20th, 2008

It’s exciting to believe that we all have the power to create a very special existence for ourselves.

Sunday night I spent a few hours talking to a person who has a very special gift. I’ve told you about this person before. Her name is Suchi (pronounced Sue-Key) and she is an energy healer.

Some of you may know what that means and some of you might think it’s some kind of hocus pocus. Let me assure you there is no hocus pocus about this gal.

Sitting with her makes you immediately aware that this is a person who is very much in touch with the things that really matter. She has been given a very special gift and she uses that gift to help others.

Here are only a few of the things that she has helped people with.

  • Restored circulation in those suffering from extreme cases of diabetes
  • Healed broken limbs of people who had been told that they would never heal effectively
  • Given people hope in their abilities to create the lives that they want

I could go on but I’d rather give you an opportunity to meet Suchi for yourself. I’ve arranged that.

She agreed to do an interview with me for all of my readers. You do not want to miss this.

If you are a person who believes that forces exist within our world besides those that we can see and touch then this will be a treat for you.

If you are someone who needs to experience new thoughts and ideas and explore new possibilities then you owe it to yourself to hear this very in tune healer talk a little about what she does and how she sees things.

Either way I guarantee you a thought provoking, eye and mind opening experience.

Remember, open look at the email. The subject will be “Conversations with Suchi.”

P.S. I find it interesting when I talk to people about exercise. Many times they think that it’s only a physical thing. In reality, it’s much more than that. The physical affects the mental and emotional. Working hard to make all of these areas of your life strong is a road that everyone should go down. Go to www.CombatEnduranceTraining.com to find out about the rewards that you can have by taking that trip.

Want diabetes or heart disease   July 2nd, 2008

Yesterday I taught a class for high school kids. A friend of mine brings his summer school kids in for a Combat Endurance class every year.

I started the class out by telling them a few important things. I said

  • Try each exercise and do your best.
  • Don’t worry if you do it as well or not as well as anyone else in class.
  • Think about doing what I’ve shown you today or some other form of exercise and make it a practice for life.

As with all high school classes there is always a mixed bag. Some of the kids give it a real good effort. Some of the kids just can’t give it a good try because their friends are watching. Some of the kids don’t try at all. Whatever the case I encourage them and thank them for coming.

I told the kids one other thing that no one wants to hear. I told them that their generation has the highest rate of childhood diabetes and early heart disease. I told them that they should think about it and decide what they can do about it. I went on to say that people your age spend too much time sitting and playing video games. I said this to them because it’s the truth and these young people need to do something about it.

Here’s where the catch comes in. I find that all kids would like to be strong and healthy. I believe that they would do something to be strong and healthy if they only knew what to do. Teachers and coaches can help by educating the kids and setting an example of exercise and proper diet, but we can only do so much.

Parents are the key. Educating a young person about proper nutrition and consistent exercise will only go so far if the staple food in the home is potato chips, pop, and macaroni. Educating a young person about the importance of exercise will have more of a lasting effect if mom and dad are active as well. We as parents must realize that kids do really listen to what we say and do.

Habits, both good and bad, are often developed early in life. A young person who understands the value of being healthy and strong at an early stage has a much better chance of continuing to make healthy choices as life goes on.

I would encourage all who are in leadership positions to make the most of your influence when dealing with young people. The choices you help them make at an early age will pay lasting dividends throughout their lives. Take a look at

www.CombatEnduranceTraining.com

to find ideas to give the young people in your life ideas for life. Be sure to try these ideas out with your kids. If you are an adult who does not have kids, make a good choice for yourself and pick up the Combat Endurance material.
