Goals Done Right   June 4th, 2010

There are many roads that lead to success. One of the proven ones is to take some time to write down your goals and visit them often.
That being said there’s much more to it than that. Getting clear what you want is a good first step but after you get clear on your goals it’s time to get on the road to making them happen.
The first and most obvious one is to get going in the direction of the thing that you want the most. Remember, it’s many small steps that eventually lead to victory.
The mistake that many make is to expect too much too fast and then become impatient and eventually give up.
Once the goal is clear then it’s important to add some emotion from past successes to the equation.
Everyone has experienced success at some point. It’s important to feel how good that felt and then bring that good feeling to your next project.
Give yourself a chance to allow the feeling and emotion of a past success to influence the likelihood of success with your next goal.
As you start your new project picture yourself with the goal already accomplished. Remember, your brain thinks in pictures. The clearer you make that picture the more likely it is to happen.
If your goal is in the fitness realm than get a clear picture in your mind of how that will look and feel. Remember to bring passion and emotion to it so that it keeps you fired up and moving on even through the times when it may be coming slow.

91 Year Old Climbing Ladders   May 25th, 2010

This past weekend I had a chance to visit with my mom. She turned 91 years old this past weekend and even though she is slowing down in some ways she still gives me great life lessons.

My mom is a cat person and it seems that whenever there is a stray cat in the hood it seems to find it’s way over to my mom’s house.

This past weekend in one of our conversations she told me that she was worried about her latest addition to her cat family, a young cat, who had gone missing for a day or so.

Lo and behold the little cat showed up but it was crawling around on her garage roof. So what’s a gal to do but go rescue the cat.

So mom grabs the ladder and makes the ascent up to the garage roof. When she gets to the top of the ladder she turns around to see that the cat has already found its way to the ground.

I’ve seen many people give up on life way before 91. For whatever reason they feel that the fight is not worth fighting. It’s just too dan hard.

91 years old and still climbing ladders to help a cat friend.

I’ve tried to tell her to be careful but it’s like talking to the wall. She’s going to do what she wants to do and God Bless her for it.

I only hope that I can have as much spunk and as much meaning in my life if I make it to that age.

Life is what you make of it. Make it special and you too can be climbing ladders when other people your age have long sentenced themselves to the boredom of a life with no more adventure.

Keep climbing mom

F..O..C..U..S   May 10th, 2010

A while ago I was working with some young people in martial arts class. All of these boys and girls were beginning students who are working hard to improve their martial arts skills. As the class went on I continually talked to the kids about the importance of FOCUS.
I don’t even know how many times I use the word in class but after working with kids for my entire adult life I realize that it is the key that unlocks many doors to success.

Kids who can center their attention on the task at hand, listen when others are speaking, and use their eyes and ears more than their mouths are often times more likely to experience success, confidence, powerful self image, and an ability to overcome challenges when they are presented.
As I worked with the kids I also mentioned the value of having a strong body. I explained that all it takes to get one’s body healthy and strong is a desire to do so, a plan to follow, and the motivation to get moving.

I joked with them that all too many people are spending too much time working, actually not working, their butt muscles by sitting down and not doing much of anything.
Kids love movement. Watch them on the playground sometime and see how they are running and laughing.

Movement is a sure way to energize the body as well as the mind and help a person believe in his/her own power and potential. Taking care of the body is a sure way to keep your mind and spirit at optimum functioning capacity and keep a person thinking about and working towards bigger and better things.
It’s easy to talk to kids about dreaming big. They do it quite naturally. It’s only when they become adults that many times they listen to others about how they should be doing things and forget the importance of movement and using their imagination.

We adults can really learn from how young people think and use their imaginations. Giving power to our imaginations and thinking about the big things that we are capable of gives us a power that can lead to things that others find hard to even imagine.
To your big thoughts,

Getting In Your Flow   May 7th, 2010

Have you ever felt that everything was working for you? It didn’t matter what you did or didn’t do things just kept turning up right for you.

Do you remember what it felt like? Didn’t it just make you feel as if you could fly?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could feel like that most of the time?

It’s possible. Even if you can’t feel that great all of the time there’s a good chance that you could feel that way a lot more of the time.

It’s a state of being in the flow and being at a peak state with your creativity, your relationships, your health, and everything else that matters to you.

Getting into the state requires that you stop doing some of the things that are getting you out of the state.

Here’s some ideas for in state success

  1. Find some quiet time for yourself. This is time only for you and for your thoughts. This is a great time to dream of the things you want. See them clearly and you’ll be surprised at how often they become your reality
  2. Take some time for movement and exercise. It’s important to get your blood flowing because it also gets your oxygen flowing more efficiently throughout your body. Spend some time breathing deeply each day
  3. Take time to learn something. Doesn’t matter what it is. Click your brain onto a different frequency and learn something new that gets you excited and makes you think differently about your possibilities.
  4.  Recall the times when you felt in the flow. What did you do? How did you get there? Bring back the memory and bask in it’s energy and positive feeling. After you get back that great feeling use it as a momentum to move to the next great thing.
  5. Slow down. Take time to do some of the 4 things listed above. You owe it to yourself

We are all capable of incredible things if we only give ourselves permission to do them. What matters is what you think of yourself and your ability to make it happen.

It’s big dreams that move people to great things. Take time to dream the big things and get in the flow.

Happy Mother’s Day

To Try Or Not To Try   October 26th, 2009

Experience tells us that those who make an effort to give it a go usually find life more than a bit exciting.

On a recent trip to an area middle school to show a group of kids some martial arts I told them that they could all get up and give this a try.

Before any of the kids came up to join me they all looked around the room to see if their buddies were going to do it. It took a while to get the majority of the kids to get on their feet and give it a go but once the first few started to gather courage then the dam broke and they all rushed forward together.

I wonder at what age kids start to develop the need to need to have their choices validated by others. I think for most kids it happens sometimes just after 7 years of age.

Before 7 years of age most kids could give a darn about what their buddies think of them. Not to long after 7 it’s interesting to see how many kids think that the most important opinion in the world is the one that their friend has of what they choose to do.

Scary thought. What’s even more scary is that from that point on many kids continue with this very limiting belief until into adulthood.

They believe that they shouldn’t do anything until they have the approval of their friends. Can you imagine how that limits a person’s opportunity for growth. Think for a moment about the times that you have done something that really inspired you and gave you great joy. What if it was something that you know one or two of your friends would never have approved.

So what.

Hey, it’s not their life, it’s yours.

Doing things that we would enjoy and even stepping out on the limb to do things that other people might not approve of many times turn out to be our most unique growth and fun experiences.

It makes me sad to watch young people starting to fall into the line of their friend’s expectations. It’s our expectations that count and we’re the only ones that can create the lives and the experiences that will motivate and inspire us.

Here’s to you living your life to your own expectations,

A Gift   October 23rd, 2009

Gifts come in many shapes and sizes. In order for us to get the most out of the gifts that are offered to us we need to make use of the gift and have an understanding of how it can enhance our lives.

In March of 2006 I was introduced to a world that I never knew existed. I heard things during that weekend seminar that made my heart race and since I’ve put them to use have opened up a whole new world for me.

That world is one in which I have learned how to share information that I have learned in over 30 years of helping people live better lives by becoming healthier and fitter.

I was learning how to help people all around the world improve their health and live better, more energetic lives. What a gift. It inspired me.

I also heard something on that March weekend that made me very uncomfortable. I was told that after you learn the skill of sharing your knowledge over the Internet, and then after people buy your knowledge and your product, some of them might never open the package that they paid for.

I found that hard to accept. Buying something that you were so excited about and then never even opening the package. I was told that the percentages of that happening was as high as 50%.

So here’s your chance…

You’ve come across something that can change your life. Now you need to decide if this is really as good as I’ve made it out to be and how badly you want it.

Combat Endurance Training is changing lives all over the world. No other program will give you the core strength, energy, and good feeling that this program can.

Not only will you feel these things but you will feel them fast.

It doesn’t matter how old you are or in what kind of shape you are in.

This will work for you. All you have to do is raise your hand and take a chance. Walk on the wild side. Inject a new brand of health and vigor into your life. You owe it to yourself and you CAN DO IT.

Give yourself a chance to open the package. Go to www.combatendurancetraining.com/BirthdaySale N…O…W.

P.S. You might have to excuse me. I get very excited when I can help people. Remember to go to see what some of my very satisfied customers are saying about the extraordinary results that they have gotten because they decided to take a chance and trust their gut.

Combat Endurance Training works and if it didn’t I wouldn’t be telling you that this program will change your life in a very pleasant way.

Two Worst Words   October 29th, 2008

You’re in charge. You have the ability to create the life that you want.

I told you about the people who tested for their Black Belt. They took it upon themselves to do what needed to be done and accomplish their goals.

They all had an “I Can” attitude. It was inspiring to see. Passion, energy, and willingness to do what needs to be done in order to accomplish goals are all exciting things to watch.

We need more of that today. People who feel that they can control their own destiny. More of, I Can and I Will, not I Can’t. Oh Poor Me. Snap out of it

I woke up yesterday and said my thanks for all that I’m given and started to work on creating my day. I’m very fortunate in that I’ve planned my life so that I can create things all day long. I work on planning and creating for the Karate school and I also work on planning and creating for the Combat Endurance business. I always work in some working out and even some fishing on these beautiful autumn days. I look forward to each day.

I find it very useful to go into each day with an attitude of feeling that there is nothing that I can not accomplish. I find it helpful to work on picturing the things in my mind that I want to create. It’s a fact that we think in pictures so why not take control over the pictures that go into our heads..

It’s sad to think that many people never picture the life that they want in their minds. It’s sad to think that some people feel that they have no control over their circumstances. What a feeling of desperation it must be to going through life and feel no control over the outcome of one’s life.

Sometimes after setbacks our thinking can get off track. After my hip replacement surgery in 2005 I had a time where I felt down and out of control. I didn’t know if I would be healthy and able to live the active lifestyle that I was so used to. After a short time I got my head straight and made it a point to get rid of all of the What Ifs and the Oh Poor Me thoughts that can take control of our minds and destinies. We need to boot them out quickly.

Since that time I’ve been as active as any 20 year old and my working out couldn’t be better. Sure I get aches and pains once in a while but it goes with the territory and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m fortunate that I’m also showing a growing number of adults the benefits of the Combat Endurance Training program. They, like me, are experiencing a whole new level of health and strength. It’s worthwhile and it’s something that everyone should come to know and feel. You may or may not be able to be in one of my classes. If you can be, get over there and get started, but if you can’t get yourself the next best thing. You can find it at www.CombatEnduranceTraining.com

Stay strong,
