The Power Of Progress February 17th, 2010
Over the past few days I’ve received emails from different people saying that they are making it a point to do something about their fitness. They want to do something to improve it.
One of the emails that I received was from a man who said that he is about to turn 50 and feels that he has to lose the extra 50 lbs that he has managed to put on. He went on to say that it’s been a very stressful year and he knows it’s time for positive change.
Good for him and good for everyone who is willing to take the necessary steps to improve in some way. Earlier today I wrote a message on my Facebook account about how Entitlement is a robber of the spirit.
Those who feel that they should just be given everything without earning the right or working for something will never know the satisfaction of achieving.
Achievement comes because of the effort and energy that the individual is willing to put forth.
Achievement never happens to those who sit on their arses and complain about why the world is so tough on them.
Movement often times requires that we go through pain. It’s the pain of learning something new, stumbling, and not knowing all of the answers.
Those who continue through the pain come out on the other end better and more able to face even bigger challenges.
The challenge to be in shape and fight through whatever barriers or distractions we might encounter is well worth our effort. It’s in the effort and pain that we achieve things that many will never know.
