Weight Loss Journey   January 21st, 2010

There is nothing like the whoosh of wind traveling in your hair as you zoom down the road on your bike. There’s something about using your own body strength to power yourself down the road that makes for a very satisfying feeling.

If you’re a woman over 40 who is looking for a way to lose a few extra pounds and get into great shape then try biking in your weight loss workout program for women over 40.

Earlier today I jumped on my bike and went for a healthy spin. I did it to give myself a great workout but also to come up with a few more ideas to write about. Even though I’m a guy there are many ideas about biking workouts that can apply to both male and female.

Here are a few things that I tried this morning and they can work for you too.

I always go out and change the pace of my ride. I do this by elevating the bike gear ratio and also by increasing the speed at which I ride. I usually incorporate intervals into my rides.

When I say intervals I mean that I ride a few blocks at one speed, a few blocks at a higher speed, and then sprint a few blocks at the end. You can change how many blocks you do your intervals at. That’s up to you.

When I was done with my flat land riding today I decided to climb up the first leg of a killer hill that I have in my neighborhood.

I geared the bike way down and up I went. I went up two times and during that time my heart was racing. Just what I wanted. Getting that heart rate up and your breathing to super fast gasping levels is a great way to speed up the fat burning furnace.

Remember to start any exercise program slowly and even ask your doctor if what you have in mind is safe for you.

After you get the o.k. then give biking a try and you’ll be happy that you added it to your weight loss workout program for women over 40.

As I finished my ride today I felt good. I’ve been on a mission to drop a few extra pounds as of late and the biking is helping me do that. I’m a 52 year old martial artist and fitness trainer who has also had a total hip replacement.

One of the things that I also like to do is walk but I find that I can overdue that and get really stiff and sore because of my hip replacement. My other hip will also need the surgery at some time in the future but I continue to fight the good fight and prolong it as much as I can.

I find that biking gives me a break from the pounding of walking and the additional speed element that it gives me is something that I really enjoy because I am unable to run and sprint anymore.

Biking is doing some great things for me to help me with my weight loss program and also with helping me stay in great shape. If I can do it, so can you.

Give biking a try and use it in your weight loss workout program for women over 40.

To your best health,

Fred Nicklaus

It’s a challenge. It seems that as women age it becomes tougher to keep that lean look. As you age your body seems to slow. Don’t let it.

I talk to many women about fitness and almost all of them want to be healthy and strong. If you’re over 40 an important first step in being a healthier, stronger you comes by choosing a weight loss workout program for women over 40.

When I said, “don’t let it”, in reference to letting your body slow as you age, I meant it. Just because you age getting older doesn’t mean that you have to give up or fall apart.

Some of the saddest conversations I have with women about fitness are those where I hear things like”

“I’m getting older, I just can’t be in the shape I was in”

“I just don’t have the time to stay in shape”

“Staying in shape is just not as important to me anymore”

“I would like to be in shape but I just don’t know what to do”

I don’t know about you but I look at all of these statements as weak excuses for someone not being their best. Just because we get older doesn’t mean that we have to give up.

Your health is a gift that requires your time and care. It’s a gift that will take care of you for an entire lifetime barring any unforeseen tragedy. Having said that it makes sense to take care of your health and be your healthy, fit best.

So what can you do to stay healthy and strong as you enter your forties? What do you need to think about in order to shed any extra weight if that has become a concern for you?

Here’s some ideas. Make a decision to stay healthy and then take action. Find a weight loss workout program for women over 40 and then work it into your schedule. Decide how often and for how long you plan to do your new workout each day.

Here are a few more things. If losing weight is one of your goals then it’s important that you choose a program that increases strength and features high intensity repetition.

It’s a fact, movement creates energy and burns fat, but speed and explosive high energy movement burns fat even better.

Here’s a quality option for you. Body weight exercises are gaining popularity among many women over 40. Body weight exercise programs improve strength which leads to weight loss and also increase bone strength which prevents osteoporosis. Body weight exercise programs also emphasize explosive training movement.

A popular body weight training program is Combat Endurance Training. The program was developed by a Special Forces captain and is helping women over 40 burn fat and improve strength and energy levels.

There are many ways for you to get into the shape that you desire. Take time to decide what you want and then get after it. Choose a weight loss workout program for women over 40 and make it a point to get into your best shape. Your effort will be worth it.

To your best health,

Fred Nicklaus

Extra weight causes stress. Worrying about how you look makes you feel uncomfortable.

What if you could be confident and comfortable no matter what clothes you wore or how much of your body was showing through from under those clothes? You can. It’s important to feel good about your weight and how you look. Here are some ideas that can help you love your body.

How to lose weight is a constant concern for many women. I’ve heard “ I want to lose weight” many times from women in my martial arts and fitness classes. Losing weight and losing weight fast rank high on the list of most important things to do for many women.

Diet and exercise are two of the things that I always tell women are essential to helping you achieve your weight loss goals. Eating right and finding one of the workouts for women to lose weight fast are great starting points for getting on the right track to losing weight.

Burn more calories than you take in and be sure to watch what kind of calories you take in. Calories taken in from a lean piece of chicken are better used and easier to take off than the same calories from a piece of double chocolate cake.

It’s important to not only watch what you eat but to also start cutting back on your portions. Stop eating before you feel full.

Taking time to eat right and not eat too much is part one of your lose weight program. Once you’ve decided upon your eating regimen then it’s time to get moving.

It’s a good idea to incorporate some form of weight training into your workout routine. Weight training tightens your body and burns fat. It’s like throwing wood into your fat burning furnace. Fuel the fire.

Weight training programs have continued to grow in popularity for women. Women enjoy the look and feel of well toned muscles and many women find it fun to show off their well sculpted “pipes” and other tighter, stronger body parts.

High on the list of workouts for women to lose weight fast are body weight exercise programs. Body weight exercise programs teach women to use their body for resistance and help them gain benefits in cardiovascular fitness, core and overall body strength, and flexibility.

Speed is also an important element of any successful weight loss program.

Speed kills. It kills extra body fat.

After you have become familiar with your exercise program it’s a good idea to speed up. Along with speeding up remember to take shorter breaks in between your exercise sets. Implementing both of these ideas will get you to your weight loss goals FAST.

Some of the most effective speed training exercises that you can add to your routine for losing weight are sprinting, hill running and walking, boxing and martial arts punching and kicking motions, and short blasts of exercise that increase your heart rate and your breathing.

After you decide on a program that can give you the results that you are looking for then be sure to be patient and give yourself some credit for the progress that you make. Choose one of the workouts for women to lose weight fast that works for you and stick to it. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Be sure to enjoy your work and effort and soon you’ll be enjoying your results.

To your best health

Results are In…This is Exciting   March 21st, 2009

It’s exciting to see people getting results. There’s something about seeing people reach their goals that lights my fire.

Yesterday I was in Madison with my son to see his high school alma mater play for the state basketball championship. They won their semifinal game and will play for the championship again tomorrow night.

This will be the 3rd year in a row that they are playing for the state championship. It’s been a nice run and it would be great to see them close the deal tomorrow night.

They’ll have a tough test in that the team that they are playing has won 4 of the last 5 state championships and also beat them two years ago.

If all goes well revenge will be sweet. It’ll be exciting to watch.

A while back I asked people that have bought some of my Combat Endurance Training products to fill out a survey for me. Many people responded and the answers that I got were inspirational and helped me quite a bit in knowing what my customers want.

It’s important for me to ask what I can do for you to help you achieve your goals. In our Karate school it’s easier to get to know people because we see many of them a few times per week and we’ve been able to establish a relationship because of the personal contact.

The Internet is different. Those people who see and buy my products on the Internet don’t know me or know anything about what I do. There are many things on the Internet that are hype and can be quite suspicious.

Developing relationships on the Internet is a bit more difficult. I’m trying to do it by sending out emails, showing you videos, and generally bringing value to you in any way that I know how.

So the surveys came back. One of the questions I asked was what has my Combat Endurance Training program done for you. I’m going to include some of the answers for you to see. Here they are:

  • I have more energy now and am really feeling like my muscles are getting their flexibility back

P.S. The way we think affects the way we feel. There’s a company that I’ve now developed a relationship with that helps kids and families become healthy and strong together. The books, dvds, and audios that this company puts out are the perfect tool to have at home to reinforce strong, healthy values and attitudes. Check it out for yourself at

P.S.S. Did you know that your brain is something that you can exercise to keep it young and vibrant. Stress robs your brain of its youth and can lead to memory loss and other ailments. Check out this audio to find out what you can do to save your brain.

No Subsitute For Results   December 14th, 2008

Results work. People get excited when they see themselves reaching their goals.

Sometimes all it takes is a will to get up and get moving. Movement seems to be the secret to all great achievement.Movement can happen even if the person is not quite sure of what he/she wants to accomplish.

Movement forward creates a forward moving energy along with a creative mindset that brings forth possibilities that might never have been thought about.

Thursday night I held my first teleconference. We had a group of people on the call who wanted to learn more about Combat Endurance Training. Learn they did.

I had the good fortune to invite 4 of my very excited Combat Endurance Training practitioners.

The stories that they told about energy, weight loss, better health, better performance at work and in daily life, and overall feelings of accomplishment and excitement were truly inspirational to hear.

The exciting thing is that each of these people and many more Combat practitioners are making it a point to do something positive and lasting in their lives. They’re choosing to be healthy and strong. What a great choice. A choice that affects all areas of their lives.

Some people were not able to be on the call for whatever reason. My young friend, William Cornell, has gotten everything ready so that you can hear the conference

Here’s the link that you need
www.combatendurancetraining.com/conference

The really exciting thing that you will hear as you listen to these 4 people is a genuine excitement and pride in their accomplishment.

There’s just too much negative stuff going on everyday all around us. Every one needs a lift in their life. A chance to help themselves be the best that they can be mentally and physically.

Be sure to go to www.CombatEnduranceTraining.com and get yourself some of this magic Combat medicine. You deserve it.
